It is the “science” of painting that fascinates me. I am engrossed by the technical processes employed to create convincing illusions in paint. The subject matter within my work is of secondary importance. Whatever I happen to be painting, the “identity” of my subject never crosses my mind. Due to my preoccupation with the technical aspects of painting, some would argue that I am more of a craftsman than an artist. I accept this epithet with open arms.
